James Robert Moseley Named Technical Support and Training Manager for Superior Air Parts Inc.

Coppell, TX, December 13, 2010 — General aviation industry veteran James Robert “Bob” Moseley has joined Superior Air Parts, Inc., as the company’s manager of Technical Support and Training.

“Everyone at Superior Air Parts is extremely pleased to have Bob join our team,” said Superior Air Parts President, Kent Abercrombie. “His extensive background and vast experience with the inspection, repair, production and certification of general aviation aircraft and engines will be a tremendous asset to the production and support of our Vantage and XP-Engines.”

Moseley has been in general aviation for over 42 years. He is a 5,000-hour private pilot, an A&P with Inspection Authorization, and an FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative (maintenance). “My current DAR function code includes Part 121, import/export on Part 23 aircraft and helicopters, Part 25 aircraft up to 70,000 pounds, experimental/amateur-built aircraft and war bird certification. I recently certified a Seafire Mark XV – the only one flying in the world,” he said.

“Along with all of the practical experience Bob has gained from working as an A&P and DAR, the most important skills he brings to Superior now are the years he spent teaching aviation maintenance technologies to technical college students,” added Bill Blackwood, Superior’s Director of Quality Assurance. “In addition to his role in overseeing the ongoing technical support for our dealers and customers in the U.S. and Europe, Bob will be teaching engine building skills to technicians at all the Superior companies.”

Blackwood explained that Moseley will be developing the complete training curriculum that will cover everything from incoming QC inspections through assembly and running an engine on a test cell. “The training will cover everything you need to know to produce and support a Superior-built engine,” Blackwood said.

“The opportunity to get back into teaching technicians the special skills necessary to inspect, assemble, test and troubleshoot piston engines is something I’m looking forward to,” Moseley said. “Teaching is something I really enjoy. And the opportunity to work with people who are truly excited to learn makes it all that much more fun.”

Before joining Superior, Moseley was the owner of Skytek, Inc., a general aviation aircraft maintenance facility. He was also the owner of Mose Engines, which specialized in overhaul and repair services for Teledyne and Lycoming engines.

Prior to opening Skytek, Moseley was a Factory Field Technical Representative for Teledyne Continental Motors. During his career he has held a number of positions as lead mechanic and maintenance director for Part 135 charter operations, flight schools and FBO’s. He also was an aviation technologies instructor at Maple Wood Community College.

Blackwood said that along with his responsibilities as Technical Support and Training manger, Moseley will be instrumental in developing the curriculum for Superior Air Parts popular XP-Engine Build Schools, which are held at its Coppell, Texas headquarters.
