Ottawa, Canada (December 14, 2010) – Mxi® Technologies, the leader in aviation maintenance management software, announced today that Icelandair Technical Services (ITS), the maintenance arm of Iceland’s national carrier, Icelandair, has selected Maintenix® for total-care services provided to the airline and international operators.
In implementing the Maintenix software, ITS will benefit from increased efficiency throughout their entire maintenance operations as they continue to build on existing engineering strengths and their unique ability to serve multiple markets from a strategically central location. Following the momentum of a successful proof-of-concept pilot, phased implementation has begun on a full-footprint solution covering engineering, planning, technical records, materials, maintenance execution, and finance.
“Through identification of the future strategic direction of our business and our support requirements for ITS’ third-party MRO services, it became readily apparent that our existing legacy system was outdated and incapable to grow correspondent to our needs,” says Jens Bjarnason, Vice President, Technical Services, Icelandair. “In Maintenix we have identified a strong product supported by a comprehensive RoadMap that closely aligns with our existing and future requirements, as well as a strong vendor with a professional and knowledgeable team.”
“We are very pleased to welcome Icelandair to our user community. They have built a reputation for being an excellent carrier, and a strong 3rd party MRO provider for fleets from Europe and the South Pacific. Their unique location, with great access to North America and Europe, affords them the opportunity to continue to grow,” says Mike Hoffman, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales, Mxi Technologies. “We look forward to helping enable that growth with our Maintenix product, giving them the operational efficiencies they need to compete aggressively in those markets.”
