Baltic Aviation Academy Starts Boeing 747 Type Rating Training

The approval certificate for B747-400 type training was issued by the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration.

Aviation training centre Baltic Aviation Academy (Lithuania) expanded its capability list by adding Boeing 747-400 type rating courses. Baltic Aviation Academy became the first approved type rating training organization (TRTO) in the Baltic region to start training program for Boeing 747 type of aircraft. The approval certificate for B747-400 type training was issued by the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration.

The ground training courses will be organized at Baltic Aviation Academy facilities in Vilnius. Flight training will be carried out on B747-400 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) in Great Britain. To provide the practice trainings the company signed cooperation agreements with professional type rating instructors from Germany, Holland and Spain.

According to E. Vaitkeviciute, the first Boeing 747-400 type rating group of students is to arrive in February.

Boeing 747-400 is a four-engine commercial jet airliner, used mostly on international routes for passengers and cargo. The -400 series are presented as the best-selling model in the successful Boeing 747 family. Manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing 747-400 aircraft type is serving more than 210 airports around the world and is considered the world's fastest commercial jetliner.

In addition to Boeing 747-400 type rating training program, Baltic Aviation Academy offers 34 training programs, including type rating training courses for Boeing 737 CL, Boeing 737 NG, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, Saab 340/2000, Airbus A320, ATR 42-72, Embraer 135/145, Bombardier CRJ 100/200, Bombardier CRJ 700/900 aircrafts and the initial pilot training school (FTO) courses.
