F1RST SUPPORT Center Demonstrates Live Video Streaming of Borescope Inspection
The video feed demonstrates the use of technology to speed the delivery of service to turbine engine operators.
Orlando, Florida…March 5, 2011…BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company Dallas Airmotive has demonstrated live video streaming of a borescope inspection from the field to its F1RST SUPPORT center in Grapevine, Texas. Observing the video feed were Dallas Airmotive engineers and technicians who were able to evaluate the condition of the engine and make a judgment on next actions, in this case removal of engine for more detailed inspection. The video feed is another first for the high-tech center as it demonstrates the use of technology to speed the delivery of service to turbine engine operators.
F1RST SUPPORT was unveiled last year as a state-of-the-art global technical operations center that utilizes integrated satellite-based technologies to deliver ultra-fast and efficient response to AOG aircraft. First Support technology integrates a team of more than 100 field service representatives around the globe, engine assets, service vehicles, and tooling with sophisticated scheduling and analytical tools to provide real-time solutions to operators.
“We’re just beginning to tap the full potential of our First Support center,” stated BBA Aviation ERO President Hugh McElroy. “The ability of staff in our command center to simultaneously view the image that a technician is seeing in the field gives us the ability to make quality decisions on the spot, and thereby help operators get back in service in the shortest possible time. That’s really the essence of service and what we strive to provide our customers.”
Dallas Airmotive is exhibiting at Heli-Expo at Booth 4810.
