Clinton, MO – March 8, 2011 – Aviation Fabricators (AvFab) recently announced STC approval for its High Density “Traveler Seat” for the King Air series aircraft. AvFab’s first model, the “Econo Seat,” received STC approval in December, 2003. Both models now have EASA Approval as well.
The value-oriented high-density seating options are designed for adding passenger capacity. The seats are available in a “Narrow Back” version allowing installation in a later model B200/B200GT and 350 King Air, without removing the arm ledges from the sidewall.
“In other words, you can order either the Econo or Traveler with narrow backs, and drop them right into the airplane,” said AvFab’s Jeff Lowe. “These are the only seats on the market with that ability.”
The Econo was engineered for durability and affordability. Weighing approximately 23 lbs., it’s a lightweight and “no maintenance” solution for those wanting to add capacity without adding unnecessary cost. Even though AvFab keeps spare parts on hand at all times, they’ve never received a request to replace a broken or worn part.
The Traveler builds on the quality and durability of the Econo while adding some features including more legroom, easier entry and exit, and improved comfort. This was accomplished without an increase above the 23 lbs. Econo Seat weight.
All high-density seating kits include seat belts, foam backs and bottoms, track fittings, life vest, and installation instructions. Add-on options include aisle-side arm rest, headrest, and side wall/arm ledge panel for outboard armrest. The seats also come with a one year warranty.
Installation is as simple as removing the existing seats/furnishings, and then placing the high-density seating into the desired location by locking them into the seat tracks. AvFab also offers pricing quotes on the removed seats as potential trade-ins.
