Flight Safety Foundation is accepting nominations for the Honeywell Bendix Trophy for Aviation Safety, given in recognition of contributions to aerospace safety through innovations in advanced safety equipment and equipment utilization.
The original Bendix Trophy was awarded annually, with several exceptions, from 1931 until 1962 to winners of the Bendix Air Race. It was re-established in 1998 by AlliedSignal (which later merged with Honeywell) to recognize advances in aerospace safety. The Honeywell Bendix Trophy for Aviation Safety includes a one-quarter-scale reproduction of the original Bendix Trophy and a hand-lettered citation. The award is administered by the Foundation.
The nominating deadline is June 1, 2011. The award will be presented at the Honeywell Press Conference on October 8, 2011 preceding the NBAA 6th Annual Meeting and Convention www.nbaa.org/events/amc/2011/.Please consider submitting a nomination for this important award.
