IDAIR – The Joint Venture Between Lufthansa Technik and Panasonic Avionics is Operational
The main aim of the joint venture is to develop, manufacture and supply In-Flight Entertainment, Communications and Cabin Management Systems for VIP aircraft as well as custom products for commercial airlines.
Headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, IDAIR GmbH went operational in the middle of April 2011. The main aim of the joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG and Panasonic Avionics Corporation is to develop, manufacture and supply In-Flight Entertainment, Communications and Cabin Management Systems for VIP aircraft as well as custom products for commercial airlines.
Focusing on narrow body and wide body VIP aircraft, IDAIR merges the depth of knowledge and expertise of two industry leaders to develop and provide new, all encompassing solutions to VIP customers worldwide.
IDAIR is expanding the definition of airborne connectivity with its Global Communication Suite, which includes Mobile Telephony, Broadband Internet and TV. Neatly packed as an integrated system to make the aircraft not only an integrated office-in-the-sky, but also finally bringing a truly customized living room entertainment experience on-board to VIP customers.
Coupling the award-winning Lufthansa Technik nice® system and Panasonic Avionics’ X series together with its Global Communication Suite (eXphone, eXconnect and eXTV), IDAIR is introducing a system solution tailored to VIP customers.
Built on a proven and reliable network backbone, IDAIR offers a customizable Graphical User Interface, providing a new level of intuitiveness and ease of use. True AVOD functionality, High Definition Blu-ray Players and the ability to control the system via iPhone®/iPad® will generate an experience truly worthy of a VIP.
