The portfolio of solutions has been extended beyond interior components to include exterior seals and window gaskets.

LINDAU, GERMANY – June 20, 2011 – Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (SGPPL) introduced its expanded portfolio of critical connections solutions for aircraft applications at Hall 2b, Stand E138 at the 2011 Paris Air Show, Jun 20-26. The portfolio of solutions has been extended beyond interior components to include exterior seals and window gaskets.

“SGPPL is able to customize solutions that meet aircraft manufacturers’ precise design and application specifications,” said Nicolas Poussineau, Global Market Leader, Aerospace, Process Systems Division at Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics. “Our expanded portfolio provides solutions for both interior and exterior sealing applications, designed to enhance aircraft performance while reducing maintenance costs.”

The expanded portfolio includes:

• High-performance window seals designed with static waterproof qualities;

• Composite solutions for material reinforcement that adapt to the most extreme and hostile environmental conditions;

• Surface solutions for door sealing gaskets, belly fairing, trim seal, rudder seal, pylons, flap and flap track fairing.

For interior applications, SGPPL provides a wide range of high-performance silicone sealing technologies (both extruded and molded) dedicated for floor to floor, crew rest compartments, galleys, cabin baggage bins, lavatories, emergency exits, dampening plates, crew rest grounds, and furnishing panel seals. These technologies guarantee interior components are watertight, airtight, and light-tight through the incorporation of fabrics and proprietary Saint-Gobain coatings.

SGPPL has a broad base of experience in polymeric, elastomeric, metal and composite products, applications and materials for use in aerospace applications. Seals can be individually hand-fabricated, automatically molded, fabric-reinforced, or bonded to metallic components.

All SGPPL solutions fulfill the highest manufacturing standards, quality control and the latest environmental legislation. “Manufacturers should look for individual solutions that are tailor-made for each application. Our solutions offer abrasion and friction resistance, where necessary, to support aircraft performance and strengthen our customers’ brands,” said Poussineau.
