Donaldson Supplies Air Filtration Technology for the T129 Helicopter

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – June 20, 2011 – Donaldson Aerospace & Defense, a division of Donaldson Company (NYSE:DCI), a leading, worldwide manufacturer of filtration systems and parts, announced today that Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, centre of competence for air management systems within the Aerospace and Transportation Systems division of the Liebherr Group, has selected the company to supply the air filtration technology for the T129 combat helicopters. This is the first supplier contract between Donaldson and Liebherr-Aerospace.

The specifically-designed Donaldson filter, composed of a lightweight housing and a double-stage air filter, will be located in the zone of the avionic bay of the helicopter - directly on the external structure of the rotorcraft - and will filter ambient air traveling into the cockpit. The design of the Donaldson air filter will remove water and particulates when the Environmental Control System (ECS) is in the "off" position.

In 2008, Turkey announced that the Turkish Land Forces Command would purchase 51 T129 attack helicopters from AgustaWestland. First deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2012.
