Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) Company Limited (TEXL) and GE Aviation will hold celebration for start of operations at TEXL's expanded facility in Xiamen, China.

LE BOURGET - June 22, 2011 - Taikoo Engine Services (Xiamen) Company Limited (TEXL) and GE Aviation will hold a special celebration on June 30 to commemorate the start of operations at TEXL's expanded facility in Xiamen, China as well as the start of TEXL's full overhaul and engine test services on GE90 engines.

TEXL, with the help of GE Aviation, completed the facility expansion earlier this year, that includes a new two-story, 17,500 square meter building. TEXL plans to perform module strip and build and component repair in the new structure. Most recently, TEXL received Part 145 certificates from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) that allow the facility to perform complete overhaul on the GE90-110B and -115B engine models. TEXL has inducted 18 GE90 engines from seven customers into its facility for overhaul since July 2010.

"GE Aviation congratulates TEXL on the opening of its newly expanded facility," said Paul McElhinney, president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation's Services operation. "The larger facility will help us better service our GE90 engine customers and effectively respond to the growing demand for quality GE90 overhaul services."

"The expanded facility is a major milestone for TEXL. We are excited to be the only current non-OEM provider of GE90 overhauls and test services capable of serving the global market," said Augustus Tang, Chairman of TEXL.

Since July 2010, TEXL has been performing quick-turn engine repairs, including modifications and repairs to the compressor outlet guide vane leaf seals, turbine center frame and high pressure turbine module shrouds. TEXL has also performed full engine tests in its test cell, which is rated at 150,000 pounds of thrust.

The four shareholders of TEXL are Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO), Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (TAECO), Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and Xiamen Aviation Industry Company Limited. TEXL is the sole holder of a GE90 GE Branded Service Agreement in Asia, operating under a 22-year agreement with GE to perform authorized GE90 repair services.
