Avidyne TAS600 Series Traffic Advisory Systems Receive Brazil STC Validation

Lincoln, MA – July 11, 2011 – Avidyne Corporation, a leading provider of integrated flight deck and safety systems for general aviation aircraft, today announced that they have received Agência Nacional De Aviação Civil –Brasil (ANAC) validation for their Approved Model List Supplemental Type Certificate (AML STC) for the installation of the of ADS-B-upgradeable TAS600 Series of Traffic Advisory Systems. This approved model list validation includes more than 400 aircraft makes and models, including Brazilian Type Certificated (TC) aircraft models from the Indústria Aeronáutica Neiva family of Embraer and Piper-licensed aircraft.

“Brazil, especially the São Paulo region, has some of the densest air traffic in the world, and a high performance dual-antenna traffic system such as the TAS600 Series is critical to keeping pilots and their passengers safe,” said Patrick Herguth, Chief Operating Officer. “This AML has been extended to include a large number of aircraft that were licensed for manufacture in Brazil, and gives our Brazilian dealers a basis for installation approval that reduces the paperwork cost and time associated with each TAS600 installation.”

“Avidyne traffic systems have made a significant impact on aviation safety for general aviation aircraft owners around the world,” said Dan Schwinn, Avidyne President and CEO. “Regional certification approvals are important to the continued success of our international dealers, and coupled with our aggressive pricing of our active traffic systems, we are providing significant safety benefits and cost savings for our customers.”

TAS600 Series systems are the smallest, lightest, and most affordable dual-antenna active traffic system available, with prices starting at $8,495 for the TAS600. For more information on pricing, visit www.tas600.com.

The updated Approved Model List (AML) applies to the installation of the TAS600, TAS605, TAS610, TAS615, TAS620, and Ryan 9900BX Traffic Advisory Systems.

About Avidyne Traffic Systems

Avidyne’s TAS600 Series currently comprises four models of dual-antenna, active-surveillance Traffic Advisory Systems — the TAS600, TAS605, TAS615, and TAS620 — which actively interrogate other transponder-equipped aircraft, and independently compute range, bearing, and closure rate of these aircraft in order to provide pilots with an accurate display of nearby traffic and timely audible and visual alerts of conflicting traffic.

All of Avidyne’s TAS600 models are fully upgradeable to ADS-B, and all TAS600 systems provide traffic information about any transponder-equipped airplane that is nearby, independent of whether the target aircraft has ADS-B equipment installed.

With the addition of an ADS-B “In” signal, TAS600 customers have the ability to show ADS-B-equipped traffic on their existing TAS-compatible displays, in addition to any transponder-equipped traffic that may not be participating in ADS-B. For more information, go to www.ads-bee.com.

Avidyne has delivered over 10,000 traffic systems thus far, which have been certified and installed on hundreds of different aircraft models worldwide. TAS600 systems are available for retrofit through Avidyne’s global network of Authorized Service Centers, and they are also available as standard equipment or factory options at several aircraft OEMs including Cessna, Diamond, Eurocopter, and Extra.
