Lockwood Aviation: New U.S. Service Center for Berlinger Wheels & Brakes

July 29, 2011
Lockwood Aviation (Sebring, Florida) will become the first US Service Center for Beringer Wheels & Brakes (Tallard, France).

Oshkosh, Wisconsin: Lockwood Aviation and Beringer Wheels & Brakes jointly announced their agreement for Lockwood Aviation (Sebring, Florida) to become the first US Service Center for Beringer Wheels & Brakes (Tallard, France).

Beringer, long recognized for their high-performance braking systems, chose Lockwood for its reputation for excellent customer service and its expertise in light aviation. Lockwood is pleased to offer the high-quality, low-maintenance brake systems, along with the company’s expert service. Both routine service and full Beringer conversions are supported at the Sebring facility.

Phil Lockwood, President of Lockwood Aviation, says, “We are pleased to be working with Beringer Wheels & Brakes. We have adopted their system on our Air Cam, and are extremely pleased with the results.”

Gilbert Beringer, President of Beringer Wheels & Brakes, added, “The reputation of Lockwood Aviation is well-known around the world, and we are happy that they will be providing service to our US customers.”

Beringer Wheels & Brakes offer pilots greater control, longer life, lighter weight, and lower maintenance than the competition due to their design, CNC-machined billet construction, long-lasting brake pads, and tubeless tires. Also included in all Beringer full conversions is the ALIR (Anti Lock Inline Regulator) system, which allows differential steering and full braking without skidding, even if uneven pedal pressure is inadvertently applied. (This is a big money-saver for school and club aircraft.)

Beringer systems are available for a wide range of aircraft from light GA aircraft up to their now-standard STC for the Pilatus PC-6, and complete kits include everything for a bolt-on conversion: master cylinders and reservoirs, braided stainless/Teflon hoses and fittings, axles and nuts, brakes, wheels, and mounted, pressure-tested tires. Beringer Wheels & Brakes represent the high-performance braking solution, from light LSA and Formula One racers, to large and fast machines like the four-seat Lancairs.

Spare parts for Beringer Wheels & Brakes are also available through Aircraft Spruce.
