Amar Chouaki Appointed AFI KLM E&M VP Regional Sales Southern Europe

Amar joined the AIR FRANCE KLM group in 2001 as project manager at the Third Party Cabin Modifications business unit.

Paris, Amstelveen, 09 August 2011 - Amar Chouaki is assigned a new mission within AFI KLM E&M. Appointed to head the sales team dedicated to this key region, he is now in charge of developing the Group's footprint in the area by strengthening ties with existing customers and attracting new prospects in line with AFI KLM E&M's commercial and strategic objectives.

A holder of a Civil Engineer degree and a PhD in Mechanics at ENS (Ecole Nationale Supérieure) Cachan, Amar Chouaki started his career as a computational mechanics engineer (1994) and an associate professor (1998) at Université Paris X. During these years, he performed R&D activities for aeronautics and aerospace companies.

Lengthy track record in aircraft industry

Amar joined the AIR FRANCE KLM group in 2001 as project manager at the Third Party Cabin Modifications business unit. Until 2006, he managed several modifications programs for customers and then took a position as Head of Processing in the Third Party Cabin Modifications business unit, where he managed the Quality & Methods team.

In 2006, he was put in charge of business development at the newly created DOA (Design Organization Approval) entity, grouping the Cabin Modifications business units for third Party customers and the Air France Fleet, and the Airworthiness Office. In June 2008, he also took over the Project Management Department of the new entity. In 2009, the Cabin Modifications activity officially became AFI KLM E&M's fourth business line, at which point Amar Chouaki moved to head up Cabin Modifications Product Support in the Sales and Marketing Division. While there, he devoted his energies to deploying activity-specific contractual, marketing and sales processes and to launching in particular a VIP Modifications offering.
