EVERETT, Wa., August 9, 2011 – BLR Aerospace, a leading provider of performance enhancement systems for OEMs including Hawker Beechcraft and Bell Helicopters, has completed delivery of its 300th Winglet System for the Hawker Beechcraft King Air family of twin-engine civil aircraft. The 300th System was delivered to Beechcraft Vertrieb und Service Gmbh, a BLR dealer in Augsburg, Germany.

Beechcraft Vertrieb Managing Director Hans Obermeier says more European customers are requesting Winglets. “Our customers just love them! We sell them on a regular basis and always get positive feedback on the aircraft performance. We are looking forward to modifying more King Airs with BLR Winglets."

The BLR Winglet System delivery milestone also includes 100 systems for King Air 90 models, including the King Air C90, C90A, E90 and 90GT. The company completed all of these deliveries within 12 months of system certification.

The 100th King Air 90 System was delivered to Hawker Beechcraft Services in Tampa, Fla., for installation on LJ-1901. “I’m enthusiastic about the performance and aesthetic benefits of Winglets,” said aircraft owner Larry Park. “We especially like the improvements in payload, range and resale value.”

"BLR Winglet Systems are providing important benefits to civil aircraft owners and operators around the world,” said Dave Marone, BLR’s vice president of Sales and Marketing. “Our team could not be more proud of this delivery milestone since it demonstrates strong market acceptance of our engineering capability, production quality and the operational advantages Winglet Systems provide to our customers.”

The Winglet System increases overall wingspan by 3 feet 5 inches, providing an increase in wing aspect ratio and a valuable reduction in induced drag, allowing aircraft to fly faster on less fuel. In addition, the Winglet acts as a physical pressure barrier, preserving valuable lift at the outboard extremity of the wing. By increasing wing efficiency, the BLR Winglet System provides superior handling qualities during slow flight, OEI and at higher flight levels.
