FlightSafety Promotes Kelly Allender to Manager of its Learning Center in Tucson, AZ

He replaces Randy Lewis who will be retiring from FlightSafety.

LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York (August 9, 2011) – FlightSafety International is pleased to announce that Kelly Allender has been promoted to Manager of the company’s Learning Center in Tucson, Arizona.

“Kelly consistently goes above and beyond to respond to the needs of our Customers and to ensure they receive the high quality training and value FlightSafety is known for,” said Greg McGowan, Vice President Operations. “Our Customers and Teammates in Tucson will appreciate Kelly’s leadership and his commitment and dedication to provide outstanding service and support.”

He replaces Randy Lewis who will be retiring from FlightSafety. “Since joining FlightSafety 25 years ago, Randy has consistently demonstrated his professionalism, leadership ability and dedication to excellence,” said Bruce Whitman, President & CEO. “All of us with FlightSafety thank Randy for his service and wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Kelly joined FlightSafety in 2001, and most recently served as Assistant Manager at the company’s Cessna Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas. He has held a number of other positions of increasing responsibility at the Center including Director of Programs, Program Manager for the Cessna Citation Mustang training program, as well as Ground and Simulator instructor.

He served in the United States Marines for nine years prior to joining FlightSafety. Allender is a highly experienced AV-8B Harrier and A-6E Intruder pilot and continues to serve in the Marine reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Kelly graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and holds a multiengine ATP with type-ratings in the Boeing 747-400, Cessna Citation Jet, and the Cessna Citation Mustang aircraft.
