FlightSafety Names Jerry Mobley Assistant Manager of its Learning Center in West Palm Beach, Florida

The West Palm Beach Learning Center offers safety-centered training programs for fixed wing business aircraft and helicopters.

LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York (August 17, 2011) – FlightSafety International is pleased to announce that Jerry Mobley has been named Assistant Manager of its Learning Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“Our Customers and Teammates will appreciate and benefit from Jerry’s experience, leadership abilities and commitment to provide the highest quality training and outstanding service,” said Greg McGowan, Vice President, Operations. “He replaces Gary Porterfield who has been promoted to Manager of FlightSafety’s Learjet Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas.”

Jerry joined FlightSafety in 2000 as an instructor for the King Air 200 aircraft at the company’s Learning Center in Lakeland, Florida. He has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility at the Center since then, including Program Manager of King Air aircraft training, Director of training and most recently served as Center Manager.

He served in the United States Army for 20 years before retiring and joining FlightSafety. Jerry was a Master Army Aviator, standardization instructor and pilot and instrument flight examiner. He is type rated in the Shorts SD-3, King Air 90 and 200, Bell Helicopter UH-1H Huey and AH-1S Cobra.

Jerry is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautics. The West Palm Beach Learning Center offers safety-centered training programs for fixed wing business aircraft and helicopters. Pilots, aircraft maintenance technicians and other aviation professionals train at the Center on a fleet of seven FlightSafety built full flight simulators and advanced aircraft maintenance training devices. The Center offers training for Sikorsky S70, S76A/B/C, S76C+, S76C++ and S92, and the Piaggio Avanti P180 and Avanti II.
