Éric Martel Appointed President Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft

First joining Bombardier in 2002 as Vice-President Operations - North America for Bombardier Transportation, he led a successful reorganization and transformation.

Éric Martel was appointed to his current position as President of Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft in August 2011.

Mr. Martel brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the aerospace industry. Before joining Bombardier, he held different senior positions in manufacturing, engineering, procurement and maintenance & overhaul within the aviation industry.

First joining Bombardier in 2002 as Vice-President Operations - North America for Bombardier Transportation, he led a successful reorganization and transformation.

Following the many achievements and success achieved at Bombardier Transportation, in 2005, Mr. Martel’s mandate was extended to include Bombardier Aerospace when he was appointed Vice-President of the Challenger Programs and Dorval Plant. Here, he undertook the complete transfer of the Challenger jet operations from Tucson to Montreal. Mr. Martel then assumed various senior management roles in the Business Aircraft unit including the role of Vice President and General Manager – Challenger and Global Product Lines and at the same time overseeing the Global Completion Center. Under his leadership, our completion business has become profitable and significant improvements were noticed in product Quality and On-time delivery.

In 2008, he was appointed Vice President, Quality, Achieving Excellence System and Transformation for Bombardier Aerospace and led the transformation of Bombardier Aerospace by implementing the Achieving Excellence System and evolving a solid Quality culture across the organization. Since December 2010, as Senior Vice President - Commercial Aircraft, he led aircraft Programs for all Commercial Aircraft.

Mr. Martel is a graduate of Laval University in Quebec City, Canada where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (1991). Mr. Martel is currently based in the Montreal area—where he resides with his wife and three children.
