Boeing Shanghai Reveals New Customer, New Certification

Selected by Air Italy for two-year maintenance agreement and Certification by Ukraine aviation authority.

SHANGHAI, Sept. 14, 2011 – Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co., Ltd. (Boeing Shanghai) has broadened its global reach to include Italy and Ukraine. Air Italy signed a contract with Boeing Shanghai for maintenance services on its Boeing fleet for up to two years; and Boeing Shanghai has earned maintenance certification from the State Aviation Administration of Ukraine.

Boeing Shanghai support of Air Italy is being initiated with the performance of 4C check maintenance service on a Boeing 767-300ER, scheduled for September 2011, at the joint venture’s MRO facility at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai.

Air Italy was formed in 2005 and is based in Gallarate, Italy. It currently operates an all Boeing fleet providing scheduled services for tour operators in Europe to leisure destinations in Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Caribbean.

The new Ukraine certification allows Boeing Shanghai to conduct line and base maintenance for Boeing 767-200 and -300 jetliners in support of customers based in the Eastern European nation.

Boeing Shanghai was established in June 2006 as a joint venture of Boeing, Shanghai Airport Authorities and China Eastern Airlines. Boeing Shanghai offers a broad range of services from engineering, aircraft maintenance and modification to component repair and overhaul and material management, each committed to exceed customer expectations.
