Five people were hurt when the stairway of a passenger plane at Benazir Bhutto International Airport collapsed on Tuesday.

Five people were hurt when the stairway of a passenger plane at Benazir Bhutto International Airport collapsed on Tuesday.

According to airport officials, the Emirates plane was departing for Dubai when the incident took place.

"Emirates flight EK615 from Islamabad to Dubai on February 27, 2018, was involved in an incident on ground as passengers were boarding the aircraft. Five passengers and one ground handling staff sustained injuries and were transported to the nearest hospital," the airline said in a statement to Khaleej Times.
