CA: Fake Grenade Closes John Wayne Airport Screening Terminal for an Hour

One passenger screening terminal at John Wayne Airport closed Sunday afternoon, Oct. 15, after a replica grenade was discovered in a passenger’s carry-on luggage.

The reports of the suspicious package were received at 12:08 p.m. Sunday and closed Terminal B passenger screening, one of three in the airport, said Ann McCarley, a JWA spokeswoman. The screening terminal resumed normal operations at 12:55 p.m.
