Passengers in Terminal 3 at Toronto Pearson International Airport have endured delays due to a technical issue with baggage processing, according to numerous reports.

According to a report by Global News, the issue was first reported Tuesday evening and was briefly resolved before encountering troubles again. However the report stated that officials could not say what exactly was the cause of the glitch but confirmed it was not related to the current baggage handlers’ strike.

A report by the National Post explained the issue involves the baggage system being unable to read luggage tags and automatically send each piece of luggage to the correct place in the airport.

To help resolve the issue, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) brought in an additional 15 workers to assist with customer service and help move the baggage by hand onto the baggage conveyor system, per a report from CP24.com.
