The union for striking ground crew workers at Pearson International Airport is claiming their employer is refusing to budge on its final offer, according to a report by Mississauga.com.
Approximately 700 workers have been on strike since July 27 after 95 percent voted against Swissport's contract, and per the report, a Teamsters Local 419 spokesperson said the union and the Swissport Canada have not returned to the bargaining table since the strike began last week. A federal mediator is involved in the labor dispute, but a meeting has not been called.
