Airline Bans Baggage Handler Who Dozed In Plane's Cargo Hold

Menzies said the unidentified man was still with the company, but has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of its investigation.

The baggage handler who dozed off inside an Alaska Airlines cargo hold has been permanently grounded.

Alaska Airlines said the unnamed contractor has been banned from working for the airline.

A frantic 911 call detailed the horror when the grounds crew contractor realized he was "trapped" inside a passenger jet cruising from Seattle to Los Angeles on Monday.
