Servisair and Swissport below-the-wing employees in Toronto chose the Teamsters over the United Steelworkers as their union, in a representational vote conducted by the CIRB.
Swissport acquired Servisair in 2013. Swissport employees were respresented by the USW, and the Teamsters represented Servisair employees. The CIRB ordered a representational vote for the combined workforce and announced that a majority of the employees had chosen the Teamsters as their bargaining agent. In a parallel representation vote, the above-the-wing workers chose UNIFOR over the USW as their bargaining agent.
