Charlotte Airport Gives Insight Into Plane, Passenger Care During Winter Weather

The Charlotte-Douglas International Airport is giving people an insight on how it handles caring for planes and passengers during severe winter weathers.

Early Tuesday morning, the airport's Twitter account provided some "behind the scenes" style photos explaining the process for deicing plane's at the airport.

More than 2,000 passengers spent the night Monday in the airport's terminal due to canceled and delayed flights. Those passengers were provided mats, cots, pillows and blankets by airport staff.

During a press conference Tuesday morning, Interim Aviation Director of Charlotte Douglas International Airport Brent Cagle, said 30 to 40 flights had already been canceled Tuesday morning. Cagle said as far as flight delays, weather is dictating the operations.
