Elvis Presley's Private Jets Up For Auction

Jan. 6, 2015
The jets have been on public exhibit for more than 30 years at Graceland.

If you've ever dreamed of flying like the king of rock 'n' roll, now's (sort of) your chance.

According to CNN, two of Elvis Presley's beloved private jets, the "Hound Dog II" and the "Lisa Marie," are now up for auction through the Beverly Hills auction house Julien's Auctions. The "Lisa Marie," named for Presley's daughter, a Convair 880 jet that he bought from Delta Air Lines in 1975, was personally customized by the King himself and has room for 32 people and comes equipped with gold-plated seat belts, leather chairs, a full bar, a "penthouse" bedroom, 24-carat gold-flecked sinks, and a tail wing inscribed with the letters "TCB," which stand for "Take Care of Business." The "Hound Dog II," a Lockheed jet, is slightly tamer (he bought the jet while the "Lisa Marie" was being refurbished), with room for only 8 to 10 passengers and three crew members, but steeped with memories of quick joy rides with his entourage.
