Cofely To Provide Facilities Management Services To The World’s Busiest Airport

Nov. 13, 2014

Cofely announced that they will be the new facilities management provider in a joint venture partnership with MiJoy Industrial Services, Inc (MIS) for the Consolidated Rental Car facility (CONRAC) at the busiest airport in the world: Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

The contract encompasses the following:

  • Janitorial and custodial services
  • Exterior landscaping services
  • Call center operators (the rental car company tenants will have the ability to call one number for any maintenance needs)
  • HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and building automation systems
  • Elevators and escalator maintenance
  • Architectural maintenance (including painting and minor repairs to interior components such as doors, tiles and windows)
  • Electrical services (including emergency backup generators)
  • Exterior pavement and structural maintenance and repairs
  • Greeters (mainly at the train to and from the airport)
  • Detailed operational and financial reporting

“Cofely is under contract for 1.5 billion square feet around the world,” said Cofely Vice President Pierre Loyer. “Cofely guarantees the availability of technical installations and their energy performance, makes buildings both smart and eco-friendly, and ensures users’ security and comfort, while simultaneously cutting costs and providing innovative and quality services. With our global portfolio, providing our services to the world’s busiest airport in the North American market is a great fit for us.”

During the first year, the Cofely–MiJoy Joint Venture expects to hire 13 full-time and 5 part- time employees and utilize several subcontractors, to deliver the world-class service Atlanta travelers should expect.

Cofely believes that this type of contract will allow them to showcase their reporting capabilities as they work hand in hand with the airport on a daily basis. The contract requires rigorous documentation for complete transparency with the airport and the city council.

“The city council required a joint venture partnership to service this contract, and was confident a company with Cofely’s expertise and resources could handle this kind of arrangement. MIS is happy to partner with Cofely on this venture. I am confident that Cofely-MiJoy will be recognized as a reliable and efficient service provider at the world’s busiest airport and in the city of Atlanta.” said Michele Hixon, CEO MiJoy Industrial Services, Inc., Cofely’s joint venture partner.  “Our main goal is to make sure that both the vendors and the travelers coming through the CONRAC facility are comfortable and feel that they have a superb team. They can trust that they will have a clean environment that is always opening-day fresh, and their needs are considered and met.”

The contract will begin a ramp-up period starting January 1, 2015, and will take over the contract in full on February 1, 2015
