Australian Report Released On Lithium Battery 'Smoke Event' In Baggage Hold

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has published a Transport Safety Report on a cargo hold smoke event involving a Boeing 737, DQ-FJH at Melbourne Airport, Victoria, Australia on April 26th, 2014. The report describes an incident where lithium ion batteries in checked baggage started a fire which resulted in the evacuation of the aircraft while on the ground.
