Oct. 1, 2014
Specially designed for Ghana CAA Board of Directors, the workshop focused on the regulatory responsibilities of the new Ghana CAA Directors.

To support the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority’s (GCAA) vision to become a world-class regulator, the Board of Directors recently attended a bespoke Safety Management Initiative Workshop, developed by CAA International (CAAi), a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK CAA.

Specially designed for Ghana CAA Board of Directors, the workshop focused on the regulatory responsibilities of the new Ghana CAA Directors. Developed by UK CAA experts, the training was designed to help the Board gain an appreciation of Safety and Risk Management within their specific executive roles. The 3-day interactive workshop covered a range of critical regulatory areas including Just Culture, Safety Compliance, Oversight, Safety Performance and Risk. The workshop also explored how to encourage a positive safety culture and examined UK CAA best practise methods to help achieve this.

Mr Gilbert Senyo, Head of Quality and Risk at the Ghana CAA stated, “CAAi Management Initiative Workshops are highly recommended for those in CAA Leadership positions, who require an overview of Safety Management Systems to fulfil their role in contributing to safety”.

In addition to a comprehensive portfolio of public access courses covering all aspects of aviation safety regulation, CAAi can provide tailored training solutions in accordance with ICAO and EASA standards worldwide. CAAi can also offer support with on-the-job (OTJ) knowledge transfer training.
