A $3.8 million renovation at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport includes new stores, restaurants

Aug. 26--Delaware North Cos. has wrapped up a $3.8 million renovation at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Jet Set, located just past the security gate, is a combination convenience store and newstand. The 2,082-square-foot store sells grab-and-go snacks, beverages, books, magazines and Buffalo-branded merchandise.

Next door is Fifth & Main, a luxury boutique outfitted with high-end finishes and boasting popular designer products such as Vera Bradley handbags, Pandora jewelry and Tumi luggage. The 1,300-square-foot store is expected to do especially well among Canadian travelers, 2 million of whom pass through the Buffalo airport each year.

A second, 1,400-square-foot Jet Set store has been added to the east end of the terminal near the Southwest and Delta Airlines gates.

Queen City Kitchen has replaced the former Landmark restaurant and expanded to fill 2,350 square feet. The restaurant has two sections -- one for quick, in-and-out service and another that offers sit-down service and a full, horseshoe-shaped bar. The convenience area has grab-and-go, prepared items as well as a quick-service menu. The sit-down section offers prime rib on weck, fresh-carved turkey breast, made-to-order omelets and fresh-baked cookies and Danish.

Queen City Kitchen's bar serves a selection of Canadian beers as well as craft beers from Flying Bison Brewing Co., Ellicottville Brewing Co., Southern Tier Brewing Co. and Hamburg Brewing Co.

The bar's specialty cocktails include several Crystal Beach-themed cocktails incorporating loganberry syrup, such as the Crystal Beach Cooler, the Comet and the Laff in the Dark.
