Menzies Could Replace Swissport As No. 1 Baggage Handler At Gatwick

Recent delays at the world's busiest single-runway airport could mean loss of business for Swissport.

The world’s busiest single runway airport was recently forced to apologise when hundreds of passengers were told to go home without their suitcases because of baggage reclaim delays.

It blamed baggage handler Swissport for the problem saying it had ’failed to meet service levels’.

That led to leisure airline Monarch cancelling two contracts it had with Swissport, at Gatwick and Manchester airport, while International Consolidated Airlines (IAG), the holding company for BA and Iberia, has since said it will ‘look at other opportunities’ if Swissport delays continue.
