Company continues to invest in its operation, including purchasing a $1 million laser to add to its arsenal of tools.

The June 17th edition of the Pope County Tribune published a recap of Wasp, Inc.'s recent employee stock ownership plan meeting held at a local high school auditorium to review the year’s trends and celebrate the company’s growth over the past 35 years.

Dane Anderson, president and CEO of Wasp, presented a year in review—2013 through the first quarter of 2014.

"The trend is our friend," Anderson said reviewed the following highlights:

  • The company brought in record revenue of $66 million in 2013.
  • At $17.2 million, Wasp’s first-quarter production in 2014 shattered the previous record of $15.3 million set in 2013.
  • Between the Glenwood and Falls City, Neb., facilities, Wasp employs 342 people—an 82 percent employment increase since 2009.
  • The company’s total payroll in 2013 was $16.7 million—a 16 percent increase over 2012’s total payroll.
