Police Search For FAA Equipment Thief

June 01--TOWER CITY -- Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers and state police at Schuylkill Haven are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for a theft that occurred earlier this year.

Police said the crime occurred between Feb. 25 and May 16 at the Federal Aviation Administration facility at Gold Mine and Tower roads in Porter Township.

Police said someone used a tool to pry open an exterior metal door to the communications room of the facility and, once inside, stole equipment used to test, service and maintain the site.

Police said the thief also stole several spools of red and green insulated wire, a portable eyewash station and two red toolboxes.

Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information on those responsible for this theft or on any other unsolved crime in Schuylkill County.

Callers are asked to refer to incident 06-01-14 when calling with information about the theft of items from the FAA facility in Porter Township.
