"Pack Your Bags" Contest Will Send Six People on Weekend Getaway to St. Louis

Grand Rapids, MI –    The Gerald R. Ford International Airport is celebrating its 50th Anniversary throughout 2014, and will continue the celebration by sending six lucky people to St. Louis for an all-inclusive weekend.

The Airport, in partnership with Cumulus media, is asking West Michigan to “Pack Your Bags.” What does it mean? On Friday, June 20th show up at the Airport with a friend, spouse or whoever you’d like to spend a weekend with.  Part of the deal? You have to come with your bags packed and ready to get on a flight that morning! Entries will be taken from 6:00 a.m.-7:30 a.m.  At 7:30 a.m., HOT 105.3 radio DJ’s Rachael and Gravy will draw three couples’ names (six total people), and those winners will receive an all-inclusive weekend in St. Louis!

Airfare will be covered by the Gerald R. Ford International Airport on Southwest Airlines’ nonstop flight from Grand Rapids to St. Louis, departing at 9:10 a.m. Friday, June 20th and returning at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd.  The package also includes hotel accommodations, transportation to/from the St. Louis Airport, restaurant gifts cards and suite tickets to watch the St. Louis Cardinals in action on Saturday, June 21st.

“St. Louis is a great connection city for people flying Southwest Airlines to southern and western parts of our country, but the city itself also has a lot to offer,” said GFIA Executive Director Brian Ryks.  “We want to not only celebrate our 50th Anniversary, but also celebrate some of the easy and affordable nonstop service that Southwest offers from our Airport.”

As a part of HOT 105.3’s “105 Hot Days of Summer” radio DJ Gravy will also be joining the winners for the weekend.  Gravy will be using social media by tweeting and posting Facebook updates to show the fun he’s having over the weekend!

“We’re excited to partner with the Gerald R. Ford International and Southwest Airlines for this promotion,” said Cumulus Director of Marketing & Promotions Marcus Bradman. “With our ‘105 Hot Days of Summer’ we are celebrating summer and the fun you can have traveling not just around our state but to the great destinations that the Gerald R. Ford International Airport offers.”

Promotion is not open to Airport employees, GFIA Board Members, Kent County Employees, Cumulus Media Employees or family members of any of the aforementioned.
