A worker at the Juneau International Airport was treated and released after a small explosion involving a deicing machine.

The Juneau Empire reports the unnamed Wings of Alaska employee had a singed beard and superficial facial burns, described like a sunburn, in the Sunday incident.

Fire officials said the man was refilling a small, heated de-icing machine with ethylene glycol early Sunday morning when a large flame suddenly shot out of it.
