U.S. Travel Agencies See 3.66 Percent Upturn in Air Ticket Sales vs. Last Year

Ticket Transactions Increase 1.76 Percent in First Two Months of 2014

ARLINGTON, Va., March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 3.66 percent* year-over-year in the first two months of 2014 compared to the same period last year, totalling $15.6 billion versus $15 billion in 2013.

January 2014 ticket transactions increased 1.76 percent over the same period in 2013 to 25.9 million. Year-to-date passenger segments increased 2.3 percent to 55.1 million compared to 53.9 million in 2013.
