DAEP officials will be present at the show and will be pre-scheduling meetings with Airport Show exhibitors to talk about their developments and how global airport suppliers can do business with them.”
The DAEP has announced a variety of future projects it will be overseeing at Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central. These includes general airport support facilities such as maintenance sheds, fire stations and hangers and specialised airport facilities such as cargo handling facilities, terminals and concourses. The other categories cover airport infrastructure projects, such as runways, stands, and navigation systems, specialised airport systems, including SAS, BHS, MHS, and IT infrastructure.
The 14th edition of the Airport Show will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, and with the support of DCAA, Dubai Airports and Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) among others.
Dubai is expected to invest over US$ 7.8 billion in new infrastructure to host Expo 2020. Dubai Airports has been “preparing” itself to double the emirate’s passenger handling capacity to 200 million passengers a year by 2045, up from the current target of 100 million a year by 2020.
Dubai International Airport would hit capacity in 2018 at around 90 million passengers. A fourth concourse is under construction, after the opening of the Airbus A380-dedicated Concourse A brought the capacity of the world’s second busiest international airport to up to 75 million.
