Jan. 02--The Wilmington Air Park has received an award from the Mid-America Economic Development Council, officials announced Thursday.

The Air Park won first place in the Community Promotion and Marketing Program category for its rebranding and marketing efforts in conjunction with Chisano Marketing Group, officials said.

The Mid-American Economic Development Council is a multi-state association for economic development professionals. The award was presented last month at the group's annual conference in Chicago.

The award was the Air Park's second such honor in 2013. In October, the Air Park won the International Economic Development Council's Gold Excellence Award in economic development for "News from the Runway," a year-long newspaper and electronic campaign.

The Wilmington Air Park is an aviation and logistics business park located in central Ohio that features a fully functional airport and more than 3 million square feet of industrial, office and hangar space. The facility is located between Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus.
