TUCSON, Ariz., Nov. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Securaplane Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Meggitt PLC, and Gulfstream have entered into multiple long-term agreements to supply products across G450, G550 and G650 aircraft, including product support for Securaplane cameras, security systems, emergency and mainship batteries and battery chargers.
Securaplane has been manufacturing camera, security and power products for aviation for over 25 years. Over 2,000 camera units are installed and flying in aircraft ranging from executive fleets to the jetliners operated by the world's largest airlines. These airborne video camera systems are used for ground manoeuvring for taxi, in-flight entertainment for passengers, cabin and external security and flight crew observation of aircraft control surfaces.
Securaplane's current security system, PreFlite, provides worldwide coverage using the international GSM mobile network, providing real-time alerts, interrogation and monitoring from any telephone for unattended aircraft. Securaplane has over 1,000 security systems installed, a base that continues to grow.
Securaplane has a long history designing and manufacturing efficient and reliable power conversion and energy storage products for aviation. Tens of thousands of Securaplane battery chargers, inverters, converters and emergency batteries and main ship batteries are in service in business jets and air transport aircraft.
