Nov. 01--Miami International Airport will install a state-of-the-art automatic baggage screening system in its central terminal over the next five years, allowing bags to be screened twice as fast as they are now.

That's courtesy of a $101 million Transportation Security Administration grant, which will help fund 12 new explosive detection machines, each able to screen almost 800 bags per hour.

In 2011, the TSA gave grants to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Palm Beach international airports to improve the baggage screening process.
