INCOSE to Host Avionics Forum for Industry Leaders at Dubai Airshow

Oct. 29, 2013
International Council on Systems Engineering's (INCOSE) first Avionics Forum, an all-day avionics engineering event during the Dubai Airshow, will be held on 19th November 2013.

LONDON, Oct. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Building on the momentum of the local avionics industry, and the world-renowned Dubai Airshow, the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) will be hosting its first Avionics Forum, an all-day avionics engineering event during the Dubai Airshow on 19th November 2013.

At the forum, presenters from around the globe will focus on topics including avionic systems and market trends and connectivity in airborne applications.

"Indigenous offset programs are fueling the need for localized development, upgrade and maintenance of advanced avionics systems in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region," stated Nauman Arshad, MENA Ambassador for INCOSE and CEO of Rockford-Xellerix. "As a result, there is an increased need for the promotion of international collaboration in Systems Engineering practice, education, and research."

The INCOSE Avionics Forum is targeted at delivering timely and relevant aerospace engineering information to avionics professionals, including Executive Managers, Technical Project Managers, Systems Architects, Systems Engineers, Integration Managers, and Test Engineers.

Ernesto Burden, Group Publisher for PennWell's Aerospace & Defense publications and Event Director for PennWell Corporation's Avionics International, says he's thrilled to partner his team's editorial expertise and market knowledge with the INCOSE forum.

"Courtney Howard, Chief Editor for Avionics Intelligence and Executive Editor Military & Aerospace Electronics and Conference Director for Avionics International, has the perfect perspective to address the incredible, rapid developments in avionics technology and offer global perspective and rich context on market trends. Courtney is also the conference director for Avionics International, and can give great insight into the shape of the dialogue we'll be having in March in Abu Dhabi."

According to the Aircraft Electronics Association, worldwide avionics sales reached $6.3 billion in 2012.  With $1.6 billion in worldwide avionics sales achieved in Q2 of 2013, the global avionics industry is on its way to another record year.  With sales of avionics closely tied to the purchase of aircraft, and the modernisation of fleets, and as Abu Dhabi and Dubai grow to become international aviation hubs, it was decided to host INCOSE during a time when the world's aviation leaders are in Dubai.

With the estimated demand for aircraft to reach over 29,000 through 2032, according to Airbus, ancillary avionics markets focused on biofuel, composites, airport and air traffic management (ATM) technologies, in-flight entertainment, and onboard satellite communications, are also poised to grow, creating new opportunities and partnerships in the United Arab Emirates and across the region.

The INCOSE Avionics Forum is the creation of seven industry leaders: INCOSE, PennWell, Wind River, RTI, Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions, Rockford-Xellerix and TE Connectivity.

Individuals interested in learning more about the INCOSE Avionics Forum can register online at http://www.xellerix.com, or visit the Rockford-Xellerix Stand, Number 3245, at the Dubai Airshow.

PennWell will also be, for the first time, hosting its world renowned Avionics International conference and exposition in Abu Dhabi.  The conference will take place 4th-5th March 2014 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Burden said, "We are delighted to be presenting Avionics International in Abu Dhabi in 2014. Our decision to move the event to the Middle East this year underscores Abu Dhabi's position as a growing centre of the aerospace industry. The event will support the aerospace market in Abu Dhabi and the Emirate's formal growth and diversification goals in this sector.  Avionics International will provide additional insights into the trends and developments in the aviation industry with headline speakers and exhibitors from around the globe."

The event will cover everything from General Aviation and Business Jet Avionics to Commercial and Military Aircraft Technologies as well as Regulatory Certification and Security Issues.

The event's partners include Etihad Airlines and the Abu Dhabi Air Expo, and speakers from regional and international companies include Honeywell, API Technologies, CESD Creative Electronic Systems and National Defence Government of Canada. Leading international exhibitors such as ESTEREL, SYSGO and TTTECH Computertechnik AG will also be represented.
