Fort Worth, Texas – Oct. 10, 2013 – American Aero, a Fort Worth fixed-base operator (FBO), today officially welcomed the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) to Fort Worth Meacham International Airport (KFTW) for the association’s annual Aviation Summit. Over the three-day event, American Aero will extend its highly trained staff, expert customer services and ground transportation for the convenience of convention attendees.
AOPA’s Aviation Summit 2013 offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable information on current general aviation topics, with seminars on cutting-edge technology, exhibit booths, product demonstrations and an extensive display of general aviation aircraft.
Bob Agostino, American Aero’s vice president of operations, noted the “tremendous impact” of general aviation on the national economy. According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, general aviation contributes more than $150 billion to the U.S. economy annually and employs approximately 1.2 million people.
“The positive economic effect of general aviation is indisputable,” Agostino said. “American Aero’s participation in AOPA’s Aviation Summit underscores the importance of general aviation locally and nationally.”
With a membership of approximately 400,000 pilots and aviation enthusiasts in the United States, AOPA is one of largest and most influential aviation organizations in the world. AOPA provides enlightened leadership and technical competence as well as significant services that range from advocacy at the federal, state and local levels to legal services, advice and other assistance.
“AOPA does great things for the aviation community,” Agostino said. “We’re happy to provide the facilities and services of our FBO as well as passenger vehicles to help make the 2013 Aviation Summit a success. We want people to know that whenever they come to KFTW, American Aero will be here to take care of them.”
