Departure Media Airport Advertising Takes Flight at MacArthur Long Island Airport

Departure Media Airport Advertising has been awarded a contract with MacArthur Long Island Airport to operate the advertising concession in Long Island, NY.

Effective October 1, 2013, Departure Media will revive the airport’s indoor and outdoor advertising network by introducing competitively priced, state-of-the-art technology: Departure Digital TV Network, spectacular wall wraps, floor exhibit displays for boats and automobiles, and large-format graphics to entertain and inform passengers. These unique displays will provide added value for the airport, its passengers, and the brands it promotes, such as vineyards, local businesses, visitor information, and arts and culture organizations.

“We chose Departure Media based on their prior experience and the excellent evaluations other airports gave us,” said Robert Schaefer, commissioner of Long Island MacArthur Airport. “Combined with their attention to detail and plan to highlight local businesses, we felt Departure Media and Long Island MacArthur would be a successful partnership.”

Annually, approximately one million Long Island passengers and visitors enjoy the service provided by Southwest, U.S. Airways, PennAir and, soon, Allegiant Airlines. Passenger traffic, and the anticipated million plus passengers traveling through the airport this year, creates a unique environment to reach targeted individuals.

Departure Media’s plans for MacArthur Airport include launching unique marketing opportunities, such as sponsorships for a children’s play area and recharge/relax stations, along with large-format graphics and :05 second TV ads on digital monitors throughout the terminal. For the first time, advertisers will be offered an affordable, yet effective invitation to brand their company in the airport.
