Aug. 20--Some 23.33 million tones of cargos were transported through Azerbaijan's territory in January-July 2013 a report of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan said on Monday.
According to the report this amount is higher than in the same period of the last year for 2.37 percent.
The export of cargos in the mentioned period amounted to 17.9 million tones, and import amounted to 5.43 million tones, the report said.
Some 144.34 thousand tones of cargos were transported through sea transport during the first seven months, 1.54 million tons were transported by railway transport, 341.6 thousand tones were transported by motor transport, some 52.9 thousand tons by air transport, and transportation via stationary transport vehicles amounted to 15.82 million tons.
Maritime transport amounted to 1.1 million tons of cargo, transports by railway amounted to some 3.22 million tons, some 1.04 million tons were transported by motor transport, and air transport amounted to 11.7 thousand tons.
