July 30--Aveo Engineering will bring 300 new jobs and $7.5 million capital investment to Flagler County. The company's move to Flagler County Airport was announced Tuesday morning in a ceremony CEO Christian Nielsen and Gov. Rick Scott.

Aveo will make LED lighting for aircraft. The company is headquartered in the Czech Republic but also has facilities in Slovakia, India, Malaysia and the United Kingdom.

This will be Aveo's first manufacturing plant in the United States.

With the county offering $150,000 in incentives, Aveo has pledged to hire 50 employees the first year, 100 the second and 150 the third year.

The average salary will be $43,000.

The facility will consist of two buildings. On the airport side, a 5,000-6,000-square-foot hangar will be built. That's where lighting will be installed on aircraft.

Meanwhile, a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing plant and office complex will be the first building on the airport's new corporate section. Helga van Eckert with Flagler County's Department of Economic Opportunity said that Nielsen has both plans and room to expand it.

Van Eckert said her office has been negotiating with Aveo for about seven months, and that Nielsen has already purchased a condo in the county.
