DuPage Flight Center’s $4.2M renovation nearing completion

The DuPage Airport Authority’s $4.2 million upgrade to its Flight Center is slated for completion in September of 2013, bringing to a close the 20-month modernization project that will substantially improve the functionality and aesthetics of the building and provide safety features and added convenience to the West Chicago general aviation facility.

The upgrade includes new customer entrances, state-of-the-art crew lounges, on-site car rental, new facilities for the U.S. Customs office, upgrades to reception, a new meeting room, and more. The improvements will help bring new business and greater customer satisfaction to the 63,000-square-foot flight center, according to airport officials. The $4.2 million investment was funded 100 percent by Airport Authority revenue.
