July 16--Honda Aircraft Co. said Monday that a Federal Aviation Administration-conforming HondaJet will make its first public appearance at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2013.

The event in Oshkosh, Wis. , organized annually by the Experimental Aircraft Association, is one of the world's premier aviation events. Honda Aircraft is one of more than 775 exhibitors participating in the event, to be held July 29 to Aug. 4.

All attendees are invited to a special event on July 29 featuring the HondaJet aircraft, including remarks from Michimasa Fujino, the company's president and chief executive, and Jack Pelton, the chairman of the FAA.

In May, the company said it is approaching the final phase of flight testing for its HondaJet light business jet. Also, the company has moved to production of the aircraft for customers. Previously it had focused on building the jet for flight testing.

The company's fifth HondaJet made its first flight May 16 under the FAA's certification process.

The company is building a new customer service center at its campus in Greensboro. Overall, the Honda Aircraft campus sits on 130 acres and is currently home to the company's headquarters, research and development, and production buildings. It employs more than 800 people.

With the addition of the customer service center, the campus will have 605,000 square feet of buildings.
