Davis Aircraft Products plans to invest $5.5 million in a new manufacturing operation in Georgetown County, creating 100 jobs.

June 03--An aircraft parts maker plans to invest $5.5 million in a new manufacturing operation in Georgetown County, creating 100 jobs.

Davis Aircraft Products, which will start the operation in spring 2014 in Andrews, will produce its patented Wolfbend product line, which is used in fuel delivery systems of aircraft.

The state Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $300,000 grant for renovating the building.

"Today's announcement provides another boost to our rapidly growing aerospace and aviation sector," S.C. Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said in the release. "Davis Aircraft Products investment brings another aerospace supplier to our state, and brings new manufacturing jobs that will have an impact in Georgetown County and beyond."
