A new "trusted traveler" lane will open Tuesday at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport's domestic terminal north security checkpoint, adding another path for qualified frequent travelers to take for expedited security.

The TSA program known as PreCheck allows those who qualify for expedited security screening and opt in to the program to keep on their shoes, jackets and belts. TSA launched the PreCheck program in Atlanta in 2011 for some of Delta Air Lines' most frequent fliers and other members of federal trusted traveler programs. It has also added other airlines, airports and participants to the program.

Hartsfield-Jackson already has four PreCheck lanes at the main security checkpoint in the domestic terminal, with the entrance to the lanes near the south security checkpoint. Delta and its partners operate out of the south side of the terminal, while other airlines operate out of the north side.

For those in the program, the expedited screening is not guaranteed for every flight. Previously, those who were in the PreCheck program didn't know whether they were eligible that day until they got to the checkpoint. Now, Delta, United and US Airways are printing PreCheck eligibility notifications on boarding passes --- allowing travelers to go to the correct lane. KELLY YAMANOUCHI

UPS won't expand

lobbying disclosures

UPS shareholders rejected a proposal that would have required the company to provide additional disclosures concerning its government affairs and lobbying activities, the company said Thursday.

The proposal, brought by Walden Asset Management, which owns more than 200,000 shares of UPS stock, sought disclosure of all "grassroots lobbying communications" at the local, state and federal levels. The proposal on the company's proxy statement said the disclosures were needed to assess whether the company's lobbying is "consistent with its expressed goals and in the best interests of shareholders and long-term value."

UPS said it already has effective policies in overseeing lobbying and political contributions and expenditures at all government levels.

At its shareholders meeting in Delaware on Tuesday, investors also rejected a proposal that sought to require the board to reduce the voting power of Class A stock from 10 votes per share to one vote per share.

UPS said all of its 12 directors were re-elected to the board: Chairman Scott Davis; Duane Ackerman; Michael Burns; Stuart Eizenstat; Mike Eskew; Bill Johnson; Candace Kendle; Ann Livermore; Rudy Markham; Clark Randt; Carol Tome, and Kevin Warsh. CHRISTOPHER SEWARD

Southwest Airlines

to serve Vitaminwater

Southwest Airlines and Coca-Cola announced the Atlanta-based beverage company's Vitaminwater brand will be offered on Southwest flights as a premium drink option. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Southwest also announced a sweepstakes to give away a year's worth of Vitaminwater and travel on the carrier. Contest entry ends May 31.

Dallas-based Southwest acquired AirTran in 2011 and started its own flights to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport last year. AirTran also has served Vitaminwater and a variety of other Coca-Cola products. Southwest will charge $3 for Vitaminwater.

Southwest is gradually replacing AirTran's routes with its own. AirTran is the second-largest carrier serving Atlanta behind Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines. CHRISTOPHER SEWARD

Zipcar to have 3 cars

at Hartsfield-Jackson

Car sharing business Zipcar said it is opening a location at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. The move adds another option for travelers, particularly those who want to rent cars by the hour during a long layover.

Zipcar will have three cars next to the Avis location at the airport's remote rental car center accessible by SkyTrain people-mover. The company, which was acquired by Avis Budget Group Inc. in March and now operates as a subsidiary, has about 100 cars throughout the Atlanta area.

The addition of the Hartsfield-Jackson location is part of a broader expansion to a total of 11 Zipcar airport locations around the country.

Rentals start at $9 to $12 per hour and $69 to $89 per day. Zipcar has a Toyota Prius, a Honda Civic and a Mazda3 hatchback at Hartsfield-Jackson, according to a spokeswoman. The rental rates include gasoline for up to 180 miles. Rentals require a Zipcar membership --- A membership for occasional driving, for example, requires an insurance check for $25 and a $60 annual fee. KELLY YAMANOUCHI
