Dubai, May 5 -- ARINC returns to the annual Airport Show in Dubai next week at the Dubai Convention Centre, (Stand E114) hard on the heels of winning a major contract to install its popular passenger processing solution vMUSE at five regional airports in Egypt - Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Aswan, Borg El Arab and Abu Simbel.

Working to an intensive 14-week delivery and implementation schedule to build, procure and install the core common use passenger processing systems (CUPPS) and provide remote third level support, ARINC partnered with Aviation Information Technology (AVIT), a subsidiary of the Egyptian holding company for airports and air navigation to handle first and second level support. Their dedicated teams have worked hard to complete the installation, on schedule for the end of May. Furthermore, ARINC is pleased to announce its first vMUSE contract win in Libya through its Channel Partner A-ICE. Full details will be disclosed at a later date. ARINC will use the 13th annual edition of the show to promote 'vMUSE's suitability for smaller and mid-sized airports in the Middle East, designed to eliminate software engineering and development costs while providing airport operators with greater flexibility to upgrade their operations and advances in remote (off airport) check in solutions. " "There is a good market here in the Middle East for remote check in solutions," said Tony Lynch, ARINC 's Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa. He points to downtown hotels and large hospitality venues as viable and time saving check in locations as space-restricted new airport terminals open in the UAE and military air bases evolve into commercial airports. This is the rationale behind its newest productivity-enhancing solution for airports - recently launched Airport Operational DataBase (AODB) AirDB v7, which has quickly attracted interest. Launch customer is Ras Al Khaimah Airport (RKT) in the UAE, with a second customer of Port Moresby (POM) in Papua New Guinea quickly following. This new version, featuring the latest technologies, supports mobile and tablet devices and provides for flexible Operations, in a centre, on the move, landside or airside. From curbside to runway ARINC 's enhanced Airport Database helps all airport personnel and stakeholders optimize efficiency. "AirDBv7 is scalable for any airport size, accessible from any terminal on a single web-based interface. It accesses all flight schedule details, and their associated resource and facilities requirements, together with any historical information as needed. AODB has become the backbone to any airport's operation as the ultimate data storage, and information management solution," Tony Lynch said. The ARINC EMEA customer base has continued to grow these past six months as the group continues to expand its product line with new innovations in Cloud Computing and hosted solutions. The Middle East and Russia are particular hot spots for business growth, noted Lynch. For example, ARINC has a strong presence at the new Doha International Airport, (in co-operation with Thales), Dubai International and Cairo Airports. At last year's Airport Show ARINC secured a 10-year contract to implement multiple airport systems at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in the UAE. The project involves the design, supply and installation of ARINC 's core suite of airport passenger processing solutions, as well as advanced airport operational systems and will include state-of-the-art, common use passenger processing systems (CUPPS) and boarding operations. Tony Lynch, ARINC 's regional director for the Middle East and Africa is available for interview at the ARINC stand.
